About The Artist
Eva Browning is a photographer, artist, and graphic designer. She grew up in the Pacific Northwest surrounded by beautiful mountains, forests, and ocean beaches. Eva declared herself an artist at a young age and drew pictures of everything and everyone around her. In college, she studied life drawing and graphic design. Eva got married, had two children, and for several years worked in a government job publishing financial reports.
In 1998, Eva and her husband Gordon visited Hawaii. The sunshine, amazing flowers and trees, wildlife, and stunning landscapes of the Hawaiian Islands combined to produce a powerful sense of joy that Eva reveled in. It was on Maui that her passion for visual art took a new path. Initially she photographed Hawaii for obvious reasons- to capture a piece of paradise and mentally revisit it. But with crisp details and the drama of a Hawaiian sun, Eva discovered a new way to express her art as her lens captured much more than a visual record of places or things. Through her photos, Eva not only conveys an enchantment with nature’s uneven, glorious perfection, but a sense of intimacy and connection.
Eva lives in Washington State with her husband and teenage son. She now devotes her energy to her own small photography and graphic design company called “Picturing Paradise.” Eva visits the islands regularly to feed her artistic hunger, and be enveloped in the warmth, beauty, unique magic, and joy of of the tropics.
